Former NFL star DJ Hayden, 33, is one of six people killed in a car crash in Houston on Saturday morning.
Hayden and former University of Houston football player Zach McMillian were among the victims of the crash, which occurred at 2 a.m. at the intersection of Pierce Street and Fannin Street.
The Houston Chronicle reports that a car ran a red light before crashing into another vehicle.
Assistant. Houston Police Chief Megan Howard said authorities know a Chrysler 300 ran a red light around 2 a.m. and then struck an Acura SUV.
Hayden and McMillian were reportedly two of the five men killed in the crash, along with one woman.

The accident happened at 2 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Pierce Street and Fannin Street
Hayden was drafted No. 12 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft by the then-Oakland Raiders
Former University of Houston football player Zach McMillian was also killed in the collision
There are believed to be two survivors, a woman who remains in critical condition and a man who was interviewed by police.
After an impressive college stint in Houston, Hayden was drafted No. 12 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft by the then-Oakland Raiders.
The cornerback spent nine seasons in the NFL and also played for the Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars and Washington Commanders.
Hayden was a two-time All-Conference USA honoree with Houston and made national headlines after a collision in practice brought a tear to his heart.
He was released from the hospital a week later and was selected by the Raiders.
Hayden recorded 328 tackles, 4.5 sacks, four interceptions and four forced fumbles in 92 career games
