Former Cincinnati Bengals star cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in a Kentucky courtroom after a meltdown on a plane.
Jones appeared in a Boone County courtroom to enter a plea and apologized to the officers he yelled at in the midst of an outburst while on a plane at Covington Airport in Kentucky, just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati.
As part of his plea deal, the alcohol intoxication and making a terroristic threat charges he faced were dropped.
Jones was sentenced to 30 days in jail, but was suspended at sentencing. That means he was allowed to go free and won't have to serve time if he stays out of trouble for the next two years.
On Twitter, Jones issued a statement after the hearing: “I take my role as a retired athlete and citizen of our community seriously; I definitely believe in giving back and treating others well.

Jones said he tried to work for an ESPN show when he couldn't find an outlet to work
'I love living in this city. That is why I am disappointed to stand before you today. On the day in question I was flying for work; I have a lot of people I am responsible for and it is something I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with.
“I was on my way to film a show that was going to air on ESPN. I purchased two chairs because I knew I would need extra space for my pre-show preparation. My computer, my notes, etc..
“Unfortunately, none of the chargers worked for the chairs I purchased. I contacted the flight attendant about the move and received no assistance.
'Shortly afterwards, to my surprise, I was told that the plane was returning to the ramp and that I had to leave the plane. I was amazed.
“I was admittedly confused and certainly frustrated when I got off the plane and encountered the airport police. I'm not proud of my conversations with the police that day.
'I am truly aware that the police have a very difficult job and deserve to be treated with respect and appreciation. I let my frustrations from the plane spill over into my conversation with the officers.
“I regret that my comments were rude, offensive and unwarranted. The police were professional to me and earned my respect in return. My sincere apologies.'
Jones was arrested on September 11 this year when he became involved in a heated argument with a flight attendant over the aforementioned electrical outlets.
Jones also apologized for his interactions with police, saying they “deserved my respect”
Jones has been arrested 10 times since 2000, the most of any NFL player during that period
Video from that day appears to show an angry Jones talking to a flight attendant and asking him to fix his seat before takeoff.
Ultimately, the pilot decided to kick him out of the plane and he was greeted by officers at the jet bridge.
Reports from the flight attendants said Jones smelled of alcohol, and when questioned by police officers, the ex-NFL star shouted, “I haven't had much to drink, I had one drink, it's 6:00 a.m.”
Jones has had multiple run-ins with the police throughout his adult life, having been arrested 10 times since 2000.
He played 12 seasons in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos.
