Ex-MSNBC star encourages people to make fun of conservatives who lost everything in LA wildfires

Former MSNBC star Keith Olbermann encouraged fellow liberals to view the LA wildfires as an opportunity to psychologically “abuse” conservatives.

Olbermann, 65, made the call for action after liberal influencer Angela Belcamino said it was inappropriate to celebrate the destruction of actor James Woods’ home just because he is a conservative.

‘This is the attitude that lost the election. They will not compromise, they will not convert, they will not be human,” the expert said on X on Wednesday.

“They must be defeated – and any opportunity to psychologically harm or abuse them must be exploited.”

Olbermann added that Woods should be targeted “especially” because he is a “despicable human being, especially to women.”

The X-interaction between Belcamino and Olbermann came after retired University of Missouri professor Karen Piper celebrated the burning down of Wood’s house.

Piper wrote in a now-deleted post: “James Woods’ house is burning down. It’s karma calling.’

She then walked back her comment, telling The College Dix that she “doesn’t wish harm on anyone.”

In response to Piper’s first message against Woods, Belcamino wrote: “I’m not a fan of James Woods at all, but being happy that his house burned down is not the answer. Be better.’

Belcamino then told Woods that it was actually liberals like him who lost the election to the Democrats.

“I could write you a laundry list of things that lost the presidency, the House, the Senate, the popular vote and every swing state, but an ounce of humanity is not one of them,” she wrote.

“Keithy, you really haven’t learned anything from 2024 and doubling down on this kind of rhetoric will cost Democrats money again in 2028.”

Woods is one of many celebrities who lost their homes in the dystopian LA fires this week.

The actor, 77, became emotional on Tuesday as he told how his wife’s niece came to the rescue after their home was destroyed by the fires that have decimated at least a thousand buildings and left two dead.

Woods said his wife’s 8-year-old niece “came out with her piggy bank to rebuild our house.”

At least 10 people were killed and thousands of buildings were set on fire as intense wildfires raged in the Los Angeles area, officials said.

Fast-moving flames ripped through homes and businesses as residents fled the smoke-filled canyons and picturesque neighborhoods where many celebrities live.

Many of the towering fires that started Tuesday were fanned by powerful Santa Ana winds, which gushed at more than 75 miles per hour in some places. Winds eased Thursday, but the National Weather Service warned that even the reduced gusts could still spread the fire quickly.

The exact death toll remained unclear, but was expected to rise as crews continued to sift through the rubble.

Governor Gavin Newsom said California has deployed more than 1,400 firefighters to battle the blazes. Oregon, Washington, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona sent teams to help.

AccuWeather, a private company that provides data on weather and its impacts, increased its estimate of damage and economic loss to $135 billion to $150 billion. Government officials have not yet released damage estimates.
