Ex-MLB star Aubrey Huff, 47, hits out after the conservative Christian influencer, 23, revealed his flirty Christmas Day message: 'There's no crime for a single guy DMing a girl'

Aubrey Huff has criticized his return to social media, claiming “there's no crime for a single dude DMing a girl” after a 23-year-old conservative Christian influencer posted his flirty message online on Christmas Day.

The 47-year-old former first baseman and designated hitter for the Rays, Astros, Orioles, Tigers and Giants explained his reasoning for deleting his X account in a series of tweets to some users who claimed he went into hiding after being called by Isabella Maria. De Luca.

“I was on vacation with my kids,” Huff wrote in response to a user who said he “made a mistake” by deleting his account. “I knew it would distract me (from) that kind of heat. So I waited until I got home and the boys went to their mothers. So here I am. Imagine a man who is more concerned about his children than his credibility on social media. The horror.!!!'

Huff shares two sons, Jayce, 15, and Jagger, 13, with his ex-wife, Barbara Heaton. The former couple was married for ten years from 2007 to 2017.

Huff also addressed those who judged the situation after reinstating his account on X.

“It's called Google,” he tweeted. 'Famous people like me are not hard to find. If you know how to use the internet, you will notice that I have been divorced for six years. Last time I checked, there's no crime for a single guy DMing a girl.”

Huff further made his point in a separate post, reminding his followers that you miss “100 percent of the shots you don't take” in life.

“Was it even bad!?” He asked in another tweet. “So what, I publicly canceled. Something I've done on a national stage 907 times during my 13 year @MLB career.

“@IsabellaMDeLuca at least struck out with the bases loaded to end game 7 of her World Series! Not many people have a chance to win the title.'

Huff and DeLuca have blocked each other since she called him over the holidays, as they both shared separate screenshots of avoiding interacting with each other online recently.

“My how the table has turned,” he wrote. “This was really all fun for me. Too bad she didn't see it that way. Some people just take things way too seriously. It's really a shame that people can't have more fun on this platform.'

Huff claimed he was merely embarrassed for not doing his own due diligence on DeLuca before reaching out.

“The only thing I'm ashamed of is the lack of homework,” he says tweeted in a separate message. 'But hey, we strike out sometimes. All we can do is get back in the box. Believe me, it's very hard to embarrass me.'

When another user on X suggested that DeLuca might not be Huff's type, he disagreed.

“Oh, I'm her type…I'm every woman's type,” he said replied.

DeLuca took a screenshot of the message sent from Huff's official X account before it was shared on the platform on December 25. She claimed that Huff flirted with her after he tagged her in a negative post about her.

“(It's) proof that most women today even know…their sexuality is the only thing they bring to the table,” Huff wrote, according to screenshots on X. “Complete with a desperate need for attention, crippling debt, drama, delusions. value, and a complete lack of responsibility.”

When asked if he could have ever “shot his shot” with DeLuca, Huff replied: 'I've definitely been down the slide in a few DMs. Who not? I say I hit .500 in my life. I took that out. But it looks like it's a stroke I can keep up all day long.'

Huff played thirteen MLB seasons from 2000 to 2012, retiring in 2014. He has since spoken out about politics on social media. He was once banned from X for spreading misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines and his comments about the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
