Ex-MLB pitcher Greg Swindell pleads for help to find his missing daughter and fears she is in danger with ‘violent’ ex-boyfriend

MLB pitcher and World Series winner Greg Swindell has publicly appealed for help in finding his daughter Brenna, who he says disappeared from Austin, Texas last week.

He and his wife Sarah fear the woman is with her ex-boyfriend Morgan Guidry, who they say is “violent” and “in trouble with the law since he attacked her last month.”

They also said Brenna left without contacting her three children, something she said she would never do without explanation.

The mother of three has not been seen since Thursday night. Her missing white KIA was last seen Friday night on I-25 in Colorado. Guidry and the van may have been seen Sunday night in Colorado Springs.

It’s unclear if more tips came in overnight, but Greg Swindell posted early Monday morning that the pair may have made it as far as Idaho, urging people in the state to “be on the lookout.”

“Our daughter Brenna Swindell has not been seen or heard from in the Austin area since late Thursday afternoon,” the Swindell family said on Facebook.

“Her phone is off and she has had no contact with family, friends and especially her children. Her ex-boyfriend in the photo has a warrant out for his arrest and is violent so IF you have seen or heard from either of them please let us know. She drives a white Kia Carnival which has not yet been located.”

Later they added an update: ‘They were seen together Thursday night and we were able to get a GPS on the KIA that is now in Colorado. Both phones appear to be there but both are turned off. License plate VFS7528 White Kia Carnival.’

Swindell confirmed that he had been in contact with Guidry’s father, who was cooperative and helping with the search.

“Please continue to pray for a safe return,” he added. “Again, thank you all so much.”

Brenna was described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds and having shoulder-length brown hair.

She is also said to have striking tattoos, including a sleeve of flowers on one arm and a spider web on her other shoulder.

A later update from the family confirmed that a missing person report had been filed with the Department of Public Safety and that the Austin Police Department was leading the investigation.

However, the family said they had no further leads other than the car going through a reader in Colorado on Friday night, as both Brenna and Guidry’s phones were turned off.

“Again, her boyfriend has been in trouble with the law since he attacked her last month and we don’t know if she went with him willingly, or if she was talked into running away with him, or what. I still believe she would never abandon her 3 children or just run away without an explanation. So until we can prove otherwise, we believe she is in danger,” Sarah wrote in a joint Facebook post by family members.

Desperate and with no encouraging leads, they continued to urge the public, especially those living in Colorado, to come forward with tips.

“We are SO grateful for all the tips and offers of help from people in Colorado,” the family said.

“But we have no idea where in Colorado they are, or if they are even there. Please continue to send tips about any sightings or information.”

Swindell pitched for several teams, including the Guardians, Astros, Red Sox and Diamondbacks

Swindell also issued a plea Monday morning for people in Idaho to be on the alert, suggesting that Brenna is suspected to be there as well.

Brenna, a hairstylist at a salon in Austin, posted her last message on Facebook on August 13.

Swindell, a native of Houston, is a Texas Longhorns legend and former Astros player.

The No. 2 overall pick in the 1986 MLB draft made his Big League debut just weeks after being selected by the Cleveland Guardians.

Swindell, a one-time All-Star, had a 3.86 ERA in his career, pitching for several teams, including the Guardians, Reds, Astros, Twins, Red Sox and Diamondbacks.
