An ex-Manchester United winger has had his contract with a Turkish Super Lig club terminated after ten months.

Nani, who played for the Red Devils for eight years, leaves Adana Demirspor Kulubu with immediate effect.

The former Portugal international signed for Turkey in July 2023 on an initial one-year contract, with an option to extend thereafter.

However, his time at the club was cut short: the club sits in eleventh place in the Turkish top flight with just two games remaining.

In a statement, the club said: ‘We have parted ways with Luis Nani by mutual agreement. We would like to thank Nani for his services and wish him every success in his future career.’

Nani is best known for his time at Manchester. He played 230 games for the Red Devils, scoring 41 times and providing 71 assists in all competitions.

The mesmerizing winger won almost everything at Old Trafford and played a key role in one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s last golden eras as United manager.

In his first season at the club he won both the Premier League and the Champions League.

Three more league titles followed, as well as two League Cups and a Club World Cup.

Nani’s time at United came to an end in 2015, although his final season at the club was spent on loan at his home team, Sporting CP.

The Portuguese player has visited a host of clubs since leaving Old Trafford, seven to be precise, including Fenerbahce, Valencia and Lazio.

The mesmerizing winger also had success with his country, Portugal, at Euro 2016

His desire to win silverware did not stop after his life in Manchester. Most notably, he was successful with his country.

Nani started in the Euro 2016 final, in which Portugal defeated France 1-0 after extra time. He even took the captain’s armband after Cristiano Ronaldo was forced off due to injury.

Despite all his success, the former United man is not done yet. Now a free agent, Nani is not ready to leave the game and is looking for a new club.
