Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians is of the opinion that the “real Tom Brady” was figuratively somewhere else during the NFL season.

“The injuries to our leaders were very, very tough,” Arians said. ‘Tom wasn’t himself, you know, with all the stuff that was going on.

‘And I have to give him all the credit in the world for fighting what happened last year for his teammates.

Brady last left the field in a 31-14 wild-card loss to Dallas on Jan. 16.

“I think the world of him, but he wasn’t the real Tom Brady out there.”

Brady finished his final season of professional football with 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions. It was his lowest touchdown total as a Buccaneer.

On February 1, the seven-time Super Bowl champion announced his second and final retirement from the NFL.
