Ex-Boyfriend Stabs Florida Star Softball Player Repeatedly Before Slitting His Throat

Four people are hospitalized after a high school softball star’s ex-boyfriend stabbed her and her mother during a frenzied attack in broad daylight outside a restaurant, before attacking a passerby who dragged him off her and then cut off his body . own throat.

Madison Schemitz, a 17-year-old student at Ponte Vedra High School, was out on the town for lunch on Saturday with her mother Jackie Roge and a friend.

The group spotted Schemitz’s ex-boyfriend, 18-year-old Spencer Pearson, a recent graduate of the school and a former football player.

Schemitz had recently broken up with him, and he had threatened her with violence for months: Roge tried to get a restraining order against him.

Worried, the group hurriedly left the restaurant – but as they left, they were confronted by Pearson.

Casey Estep, who was having lunch with Schemitz and her mother, said Roge was one of her best friends.

“She’s like my soulmate as a sister, per se, as a friend,” she shared News4Jax.

It was Estep who first saw Pearson.

“I saw a boy stand up with the same school logo on it, I thought, ‘Oh, he must go to the same school,'” Estep said.

“They said, ‘Oh, we have to go.’

They asked for the check and tried to leave quietly, but before Estep finished paying, she said the boy ran to the other three in the parking lot.

“She did what any mother would do and put herself in danger,” Estep said.

Pearson stabbed Schemitz and her mother outside Mr. Chubby’s Wings on Valley Circle, and their screams alerted Kennedy Armstrong, 23.

Pearson grabbed Schemitz’s arm and stabbed her at least 15 times.

Her mother was stabbed in the leg and forehead, deputies said.

Armstrong told News4Jax said he saw a man “pounding on her chest” on top of a woman on the sidewalk.

He said he couldn’t tell if the man had a knife or was just using his fist, but he ran to the crime scene and knocked the man off the woman.

Pearson then turned on Armstrong and severed an artery in his arm.

The teen then slit his own throat in a suicide attempt.

All four have been taken to hospital.

Schemitz suffered deep lacerations to her spine and required multiple surgeries.

Her mom wrote on their GoFundMe page Monday, “I’m about to have surgery, my muscles had separated from the bone on my hand.

“Madison has 2 chest tubes and a spinal cord injury, but she’s a fighter, please keep praying for her.”

Armstrong needs surgery to reconnect nerves and an artery and repair scarring.

Pearson remains in critical condition: if he survives, he will face multiple felonies, including attempted murder.
