Ex-Apple employee reveals what your cell phone company says about your personality

Your mobile provider says a lot about who you are, claims an ex-Apple employee.

Tyler Morgan, who worked in sales, explained that choosing one of the big five companies is more about your personality than the best coverage or cheapest plan.

These traits include your favorite actor, whether you are financially dependent on your parents, when you left home, and whether you are at a low point in your life.

Morgan has gained a huge following on social media by sharing insights from his time at Apple and providing advice to customers.

1.Verizon

If you have a Verizon plan, Morgan warned in TikTok video that this is a sign that you are a ‘trust fund’.

“We understand your parents are doing well, we understand,” he said, adding, “Good luck paying for it yourself if they kick your *ss out.”

One person commented on the video, telling Morgan that his observation of Verizon was “spot on.”

“I have Verizon and it’s not easy to pay it now,” they wrote.

Verizon is used primarily by trust fund babies whose parents are still footing the bill, Morgan said.

Others questioned Morgan’s judgment, asking, “What’s wrong with Verizon?” and another said, “Verizon isn’t expensive. I don’t know what plan you all have.”

Verizon’s most expensive plan is Unlimited Ultimate, which gives customers 5G broadband service and 60 gigabytes of premium mobile hotspot data per month for $90.

2. AT&T

Morgan touted that AT&T users are “like the Android friend in your friend group of iPhone users.”

“For whatever reason, you just don’t want to pay that extra $10 a month to use Verizon,” he said.

He cited AT&T’s popularity for its bundling options that allow customers to get access to DIRECTV, internet and an unlimited phone plan for $150 to $65 per month.

However, AT&T stands for “Always Troubled and Tired,” Morgan said, clarifying that the company’s maintenance trucks are the most common he sees because something always goes wrong.

AT&T has suffered two extended nationwide outages this year, leaving tens of thousands of customers without data or cell service.

After the second outage earlier this month, users seemed to become disenchanted with the company, with one person on These service issues are getting old.”

3. T-Mobile

T-Mobile is the best option according to Morgan, who said most people stick with the company because their family has had a plan since the early 2000s.

T-Mobile is the best option according to Morgan, who said most people stick with the company because their family has had a plan since the early 2000s.

According to Morgan, T-Mobile is the type of carrier you were born with or joined because you moved at a young age.

‘Did you, like me, abruptly leave home at sixteen? You probably have T-Mobile,” he said, adding, “Most likely you’ve been with them, or someone in your family has been with them since the Sidekick existed.”

The T-Mobile Sidekick debuted in 2002, with a four-bit black and white display, and was worn by socialites Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian as the popular BlackBerry alternative.

T-Mobile offers a cheap alternative to other phone plans with its $50 per month ‘Essentials Saver’ option for unlimited talk and text and 50 gigabytes of data, making it one of Morgan’s top picks.

4. Coin mobile

People who choose Mint Mobile over other phone companies “just like Ryan Reynolds,” Morgan said, even though T-Mobile officially bought the company last month for $1.3 billion.

Reynolds bought a 25 percent stake in Mint Mobile in 2019 and was known for pushing the company in sponsored commercials.

The company offers a $15 per month deal for both new and existing customers, and Morgan showed his preference by saying, “Mint Mobile, if you want to collaborate, I like you the most.”

But given T-Mobile’s recent acquisition of the platform, this means “technically I like T-Mobile the best.” That’s fine with me,” Morgan said.

5. Spectrum

Spectrum is a bottom-tier phone company, said Morgan, who cautioned users against signing up for a $25-per-month Unlimited Plus plan.

“This is a low level you don’t have to be,” Morgan said. “You probably got it for a bundle or something, right?”

He acknowledged that the company has “mostly” good Wi-Fi, but that’s where the benefits end, though he didn’t list all the negative reasons he doesn’t like the company.

‘Stop it, just leave. You’re better off using prepaid,” Morgan said.

He quantified his statements by saying that at one point he was a customer of all five airlines, but “Spectrum… that was a dark time in my life,” he said.
