Evil thug who dragged his naked girlfriend outside and poured a jug of boiling water over her learns his fate

A thug who dragged his naked girlfriend from their home before pouring a jug of boiling water over her, leaving her with horrific burns, has been jailed.

Simon Terence Hamiora Kereopa and his victim had consumed a ‘large amount’ of alcohol on the night of the attack on February 3 last year. New Zealand herald reported.

The pair began arguing and around 3.30am the victim called her friend and asked her to pick her up from the house in Raglan on New Zealand’s North Island.

But before the friend arrived, Kereopa dragged the naked woman through the kitchen door and down a flight of stairs, before grabbing a cauldron from inside and pouring its contents on her.

As he delivered his attack, he said, “You deserve it, and that’s what you get.”

He threatened to boil the kettle and attack her again, so the woman ran into her daughter’s room and hugged her.

Kereopa followed and said, “Once you let go, I will burn your face.”

At that point, the woman’s friend arrived and she was able to flee.

She took cold showers, swam in her friend’s pool and slept until 3:30 pm the next day, when she was taken to hospital.

Doctors found that the woman had suffered burns to 12 percent of her body, including her left thigh, shoulders, neck and left arm.

The burns were so severe that the woman had to have the burned tissue removed and redressed.

Judge Stephen Clark told the court Kereopa had 17 domestic violence convictions, eight of which were against the woman he attacked.

Speaking to Kereopa, the judge said: “You know these specific facts were humiliating. Dragging her outside naked and pouring boiling water on her, whether you were drunk or not.”

Kereopa was jailed for three years and one month for causing grievous bodily harm with intent to injure.
