Fans praise Maya Jama’s least compatible couple turn

Tensions reached a breaking point when the villa was told by host Maya Jama to vote for who they thought was the least compatible couple.

Viewers praised the shocking twist for “bringing the drama” as the islanders gathered around the fire pit to announce their nominations to the group.

While each couple said they believed the two islanders had the least potential for a relationship, excitement mounted as friendships were thrown under the bus.

The two couples with the most votes – Leah Taylor and Mitchel Taylor and Jess Harding and Sammy Root – were then told by Maya that they are now single and not allowed to mate again.

In another bombshell, they were told they were about to go on a date with two sexy new bachelors; Montel McKenzie and Mal Nicol.

When asked who she had set her eyes on in the villa before entering, she said, “I actually like Sammy. I think he’s quite funny and his personality comes out more – there’s something about him that I like.

“I like Zach too, Zach, but I wouldn’t go too hard on him because I feel like he’s going to get a little big on his boots because he’s had a lot of female attention. I think I would play it cool with him.

Together with Mal, Montel will enter the villa to try and lure some girls out of their current couples.

The East London account manager and semi-pro footballer says his current top three are Catherine, Leah and Ella.

He said, ‘For me Ella is generally my type, Catherine is well behaved and seems like a classy girl. Leah seems very calm and that’s the kind of person I am.’

He said he’s not too worried about going for an islander who’s already getting to know someone else.
