Everything you missed on Love Island episode seventeen

Love Island introduced two new bombshells this week, and Wednesday night’s show saw the fallout from their shocking arrival.

After Maya Jama’s surprise visit to the villa 24 hours early to announce the compatibility vote, newly single Jess, Sammy, Leah and Mitch enjoyed dates with newcomers Mal and Montel.

The results of the “who is the least compatible” vote also generated some emotional reactions as the islanders turned on each other.

Here’s everything you missed in the latest episode of the ITV2 dating show.

Fans Are Baffled When Mitchel Asks Bombshell Mal If She Brushes Her Teeth In ‘Boring’ Date

Viewers were completely baffled by Mitchel Taylor’s flirting techniques while dating new bombshell Mal Nicol on Wednesday’s episode.

The gas engineer, 26, sent fans into hysterics when he asked Mal, 25, if she brushed her teeth while complimenting her on their date.

Mitchel and former partner Leah Taylor were voted one of the least compatible couples by their fellow islanders, along with Jess Harding and Sammy Root.

They were all then told to become single and immediately went on dates with new bombshells Mal and Montel McKenzie.

However, the dates were branded “boring” and “boring” by unimpressed viewers, while Mitchel’s flirting techniques also caused a stir.

During his date, Mitchel complimented Mal in a flirty chat, telling her he loved her teeth, before bizarrely asking her if she “brushed them often.”

He said, “Your teeth are very beautiful, by the way, I keep looking at them. Do you brush them often?’

To which Mal replied, “Yes, I brush them often, they are real, people think mine are fake.”

Mitchel confirmed his teeth were real, too, before adding, “Yours are super straight.”

After returning to the villa, Mitchel told his fellow islanders that the date had gone really well despite the awkward moment, insisting they had a lot in common.

But viewers seemed less than convinced when they took to Twitter to comment on the interaction, admitting they were in a bind at the moment.

Sammy labeled “one of the most unlikeable islanders ever” as he makes Catherine cry

The project manager got into a tense argument with the broker, both 22, after the compatibility vote on Tuesday’s episode caused some conflict.

Catherine was less than impressed when Sammy commented that he didn’t think she had a physical connection with her partner Scott van-der-Sluis.

Catherine then confronted Sammy about his comments and she eventually burst into tears when Sammy doubled down on his comments about physical attraction.

On Twitter, viewers were quick to pile criticism on his response, describing him as “one of the most unlikely islanders” ever.

One person said, “Sammy is one of the most obnoxious islanders ever. And it’s not even recency bias, the way this guy likes to degrade people is mean.”

Another wrote: ‘The “most unlikely islanders ever” category is very busy, but Sammy rockets to the top. He’s tiring.’

A third commented, “I actually hate Sammy so much, wow he’s soooo obnoxious,” while a fourth tweeted, “Sammy is SO obnoxious.”

Fans turn on Jess for blaming Whitney and Catherine

Viewers weren’t impressed with Jess Harding after she blamed Whitney Adebayo and Catherine Agbaje for being voted the least compatible couple with Sammy Root.

Jess, 22, broke down in tears on Wednesday night’s show after being told by host Maya Jama that she is now single and unable to reconnect with Sammy, also 22.

But viewers accused Jess of crying “crocodile tears” and weren’t amused when she singled out Whitney and Catherine for nominating her.

It comes as the show was dragged into a ‘bullying’ queue after 155 viewers complained to Ofcom accusing Jess of bullying Molly Marsh, 21, in scenes aired on ITV2 on June 14.

Jess burst into tears and told the girls, “I feel like everyone here is acting so fake.”

“I’m not gonna lie I actually thought a lot more people would choose other couples over me and Sammy even though we had that little bleep I fell like you [points to Whitney and Catherine] would better know how much we are compatible and how much we have on the outside.

“I feel like it was a loophole for a lot of people.”

Viewers took to Twitter to vent how Catherine and Whitney were put in Jess’ line of fire — despite the fact that other islanders had signed them up for the vote.

One viewer wrote, “I am so crying over Jess. I don’t feel sorry for her, they don’t fit as a couple. Stop blaming other people.’
