Everything we’ve heard about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 so far

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have made their way back to the big screen in the new animated movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant mayhem. But as you’d expect from the gang of half-cap martial artists, there’s always another bad guy to fight and another crime to stop, and that means a sequel.

Mutant mayhem gives us the origin story of the Turtles and pits them against quite a few opponents, but it also has a follow-up plague that sets up the biggest villain the Turtles have ever had. Here’s everything we know so far about the follow-ups to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhemincluding the sequel and the animated show.

Will there be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2?

Yes! The sequel to the new Turtles movie, produced by Seth Rogen, was greenlit even before the first movie was released. In fact, it’s also getting a sequel in the form of an animated TV series that, according to Variety, will “bridge” the two films. The show streams on Paramount Plus and runs for two seasons.

When is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 coming out?

This is a good question, and one to which we don’t have an exact answer. Since the show has to bridge the gap between the first movie and the sequel, we can probably say that the second movie is at least two years away. But who knows? It can even be more than that. It takes a lot of time to make animated movies that look good!

What is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 about?

This is where the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem credits scene comes into play. During that scene, we get our first glimpse of the Shredder of this story. Director Jeff Rowe said that while his crew initially thought of making Shredder the big bad guy Mutant mayhem, they felt like that wouldn’t give the Turtles or their arch-rival the origin story they deserved – and the Turtles were clearly priority number one. But that means Shredder will soon be on the Turtles’ list of adversaries.

So is Shredder the bad guy from the TV show or movie?

This is a more difficult question. It could be that Shredder is the villain of both – he’s certainly cool enough to be. Wherever he actually shows up, the good news (or bad news) is that we know Shredder is on his way.
