Nathan Cleary made a secret trip to Manchester to see new girlfriend Mary Fowler, according to his latest Instagram post.
Cleary, 26, sent the sporting world wild on Tuesday night after confirming his relationship with the Matildas star, 20, on social media, ending months of speculation.
The pair had been spotted together several times before Daily Mail Australia exclusively confirmed their first public appearance in Perth in early November.
Cleary saw Fowler play and score for Australia against Chinese Taipei that same day, before the two parted ways. Fowler returned to England to play for WSL side Manchester City, while Cleary apparently headed on a post-season trip to the United States.
But his Instagram post suggests he made a flying visit to the northwest of England to see Fowler before they were reunited at Sydney Airport on December 20.

The halfback posted an ice cream emoji in a clear hint at their first date
One photo shows Cleary standing outside Sushi Mami, a Japanese restaurant, where a phone number begins with “0161.” That number is the area code for Manchester.
He also posted an ice cream emoji as a subtle reference to the pair’s first meeting at an ice cream parlor after an Adidas event. At the time, Cleary’s camp denied there was anything more to the encounter, saying it was “just ice cream.”
The halfback’s sister Indi revealed what prompted the unexpected revelation.
‘Watches a rom-com, publishes a debut. I love it,” she captioned the post.
And Cleary’s Penrith teammate, Brian To’o, hinted an engagement ring could be in the offing.
“Mr. and Mrs. Cleary,” he posted alongside a ring emoji.
Cleary is likely to return to the North West next month where the Panthers will take on Wigan Warriors in the Super League Champions.
Their romance became public thanks to Daily Mail Austraia’s exclusive photos of them in a Perth park before Australia’s match against Chinese Taipei.

Both athletes are said to be very private when it comes to their relationships, but Cleary recently admitted that the intense spotlight on his personal life was something he didn’t expect.
“It’s definitely different from when I was young when I went into first grade and people would dissect my game. I’d never had that before,” Cleary told News Corp.
