Everyone is saying the same thing after Travis Kelce was tapped to host SNL a week before notable music star

Taylor Swift fans have reacted to a very happy near miss between the singer’s current boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and her former flame, Matty Healy.

A fan of the hitmaker had been looking back at Saturday Night Live’s 2023 lineup when they noticed that NFL superstar Travis was making his hosting debut just a week before Matty’s band, The 1975, appeared as musical guest.

“Can you imagine if that schedule was a little different?” wrote the user on X, formerly Twitter.

After initial confusion about the lineup for the coming weeks, the fan clarified, “This was all two years ago. It would have meant absolutely nothing at the time.

‘I just thought it was strange that there was a week in between. Open the chronic online schools omfg.’

Many fans agreed that the close call was entertaining to look back on, now that Taylor’s affair with Matty has burned out and she has since found headline-making love with the Kansas City Chiefs.

“The absurd amount of money I would pay to go back in time, break into the writers room, change the schedule and see Travis say ‘ladies and gentlemen, the 1975,’” one fan wrote.

Another commented, “I’d pay serious money to see a Travis Matty interaction.”

“That would have been chaos,” one follower tweeted, while another added: “The universe knew…”

Elsewhere, another mused: ‘It would have been such a mess if it had happened now.’

It’s not known exactly when Matty and Taylor started their romance in 2023, but the pair were spotted kissing in May before the romance fizzled out a month later.

Taylor and Travis only hooked up over the summer, but it has since been revealed that the Blank Space hitmaker did see the sports star during his SNL appearance.

According to SNL star Ben Marshall, Taylor reached out to him after the show aired to share her thoughts on Travis and his skit with Ben’s comedy group.

“She kind of told us that she watched his SNL episode and saw him in our video and said, ‘Oh, this guy seems funny,'” he recalled on an episode of Mike Birbiglia’s Working It Out podcast.

“So a little [we] brought them together,” he added.

The Kansas City Chiefs star has been a dating pop sensation for just over 18 months now, but many are already expecting the A-List couple to be one of the first to take their relationship to the next level in the coming months.

After taking a closer look at the photos, a Swiftie who goes by the name @lizpwoods on Instagram claimed the singer’s left ring finger looked “blurred.”

This led to the wild theory that Taylor may have purposely ‘left out’ an engagement ring to avoid revealing the news that Kelce had finally popped the question.

There has been no announcement from the couple about an engagement yet.

However, Travis revealed this month on he and his brother Jason’s “New Heights” podcast when Taylor shouldn’t expect to get married.

During the episode, the brothers were asked about their thoughts on a fan’s desire not to celebrate his wedding during the height of football season.

“I actually don’t know any people who got married in the fall because all the weddings I’ve been to and all my friends always do in the summer,” Travis told brother Jason.

“You have to be prepared to find a weekend where the team might not play well against anyone.

“And if you really have a problem with that, it might be in her best interest not to have it in the fall so she knows you’re invested in the anniversary every time it comes up.”

‘I’ve seen weddings in February. I’ve seen weddings everywhere except in the fall.

“So I’m not sure fall was a good wedding season.”
