The Everton team began preparations for the Sydney Super Cup with a warm-up and swim at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach.

Morning runners who normally use the world-famous beach had to share the sand and local football fans quickly rallied for autographs when word got out of Everton’s attendance.
The Blues are in Australia to compete in the Sydney Super Cup, with their first game against the Scottish Premier League champions at Accor Stadium on Sunday night, local time.
Both clubs have strong support down under, with former Socceroos striker Tim Cahill making over 200 appearances for Everton.
Celtic are currently managed by Aussie Ange Postecoglou and have had many Australians play for them over the years, including Mark Viduka, Scott Macdonald and current Socceroos star Aaron Mooy.

The Everton vs Celtic clash comes at a time when Postecoglou has been linked with the top job at The Toffees should the under fire manager Frank Lampard be sacked.
After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, the Toffeemen are once again flirting with relegation and going into the World Cup break in 17th place, just one point clear of Nottingham Forest.
After a run of six games unbeaten in the Premier League, The Blues have now lost five of their last seven games in all competitions to add pressure to Lampard, who only took over at Goodison Park in January.

Postecoglou, on the other hand, has enjoyed a dream start to his Celtic career, restoring the Hoops to the pinnacle of Scottish football as Celtic wrestled back the league title from Rangers in its inaugural SPL campaign.
Celtic finished 25 points behind Rangers in 2021, losing three of Postecoglou’s first six games in charge, before embarking on a 31-match unbeaten league run to regain the title and also win the Scottish League Cup final.
The impressive results have sparked strong interest from Premier League clubs – with Postecoglou also being linked to the top job at Brighton and Leicester.
But the former Socceroos boss has repeatedly shut down rumors of a departure from Celtic, at least for the foreseeable future.

“Right now I’m really focused. I have a huge job,” he told Fox Sports last month.
“We are just building a side here. And I never looked too far ahead. […] And I enjoy it, we’re still building something here.
“I don’t change that focus with regard to the outside noises that may be there about myself.”
