Everton defender Ben Godfrey is a loan target for Leeds United but is expected to move abroad.
The 26-year-old, who has two caps for England, has found himself on the periphery of Everton’s first team this season thanks to the form of Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski.
However, his departure would leave Everton with Michael Keane as their only recognized centre-back.
Championship promotion chasers Leeds are said to be keen to loan Godfrey, but this is not expected to happen given Everton’s current financial situation and the interest in the centre-back from abroad.
Leeds lost Luke Ayling to Middlesbrough and brought Djed Spence back to Tottenham before moving to Genoa. Godfrey can fill in at wing-back, but would welcome the opportunity to play in his more natural central defensive role.
