Frank Lampard is a big admirer and it is hoped a deal can be done before next weekend
Boss Frank Lampard is a big admirer of Coady – who was an unused substitute during Wolves’ 2-1 defeat at Leeds on Saturday – and it is hoped a deal can be pushed through before next weekend’s trip to Aston Villa.
Coady has found himself down the pecking order at Wolves after the arrival of £20m Nathan Collins, who started alongside Max Kilman at Elland Road.
Everton are also close to deals for midfielders Amadou Onana, of Lille, and PSG’s Idrissa Gana Gueye, who will be returning to Goodison Park three years after leaving for Paris

The Everton boss is confident that new signing Amadou Onana will have a major influence on his Toffees squad this season.
‘I’m a fan, that’s why he’s here,’ the Everton boss said.
‘For me, a big future, and he’ll have a big impact on the club. He’s a good lad, he’s got a real confidence about him. I think he comes in at a good age for him. I’m very pleased that one’s close.’
