Two women have died in a horror crash that involved multiple cars and left several others injured, including a passenger who suffered critical injuries.

The accident happened at around 5.20pm on Tuesday near the intersection of Templeton Road and Blyth Road at Everard Central, about 40 kilometers north of Port Wakefield, South Australia.

Emergency services responded to the fatal crash after a Honda and a van collided at the intersection.

A 54-year-old woman and an 86-year-old passenger died at the scene in Snowtown, about 151 kilometers north of Adelaide.

An 84-year-old man who was a passenger in the back seat of the Honda was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.

The two occupants of the van, the 28-year-old male driver and his 26-year-old female passenger, were also injured following the collision.
