Even on dates and during intimate moments, actress Susan George King still called Charles “Sir”

After his first great love, Camilla Shand, married Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973, Charles was free to play on the field.

One woman who caught his eye was actress Susan George – star of the 1971 film Straw Dogs – with whom he enjoyed several intimate dinners.

An informed source, who was very close to her at the time, said that even in their most intimate moments, Susan still referred to the prince as “sir.”

She called him her “special person” to friends, although she publicly denied that there had been any romance.

Another actress whom Charles greatly admired was Barbra Streisand, with whom he became close in 1974. He recently told a radio show that they had first met when he was a lieutenant in the Royal Navy and his ship in San Diego, California.

“I heard she was making the movie [Funny Lady, sequel to Funny Girl]. I was lucky enough to visit the set and meet her there. I will never forget her dazzling, vibrant talent and the unique vitality and appeal of her voice and her acting ability,” he said.

Barbra also had fond memories of their time together. “We became friends and I loved spending some time in Highgrove for a weekend raising money and going through his gardens,” she said.

Of course, she added, this was long before Charles had met Diana Spencer. “I had a really funny line on stage when he came to watch [my] show.

“I said, ‘You know, if I had played my cards right, I could have become the first Jewish princess!’ ‘
