“Why do we only applaud masculinity in women and scold it in men?” Ant-Man and The Wasp star Evangeline Lilly denounces traditional gender roles, says masculine men should be celebrated

Ant-Man and The Wasp actress Evangeline Lilly has launched a scathing attack on the undermining of traditional gender roles and believes masculine men should be celebrated.
In a post shared on her Instagram, the actress spoke about her frustration with people who applauded masculinity in women and scoffed at it in men.
The 43-year-old said: ‘Why do we only applaud masculinity in women and scold it in men?
“And why do we only applaud femininity in men and demean her in women? Why can’t we just allow everything?
“Why do we feel the need to vilify a man who wears s*** kicker boots, drives a pickup truck who isn’t afraid to punch someone in the face, but if they were a woman they would be the epitome of cool ?

In a post on her Instagram, the actress spoke about her frustration with people cheering for masculinity in women.
“Why is a man who likes makeup, cries easily, and stays home to do housework brave, but a woman who does the same is pathetic?”
Lilly, who is Canadian, also urged the public to stop “trying to juggle the minutiae of judgment” and bring “mercy and charity” back into their lives.
The Avengers star has previously been outspoken about her views on the COVID vaccine.

A well-known critic of the vaccine, she attended an anti-vaccine mandate meeting in Washington DC last January.
Earlier she was forced to apologize after she compared the deadly virus to a ‘respiratory flu’.
The Ant-Man and Wasp star also starred in The Hobbit trilogy as Tauriel. She has two children with Hobbit co-star Norman Kalio.
She rose to fame in TV drama Lost.
