Evan Peters, long known for his chilling portrayals of sinister characters, wants to play someone ‘normal’.
Before filming Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, the 35-year-old actor informed creator Ryan Murphy that he would consider making a romantic comedy. The Hollywood Reporter.

After reading the script for the Netflix series based on the true story of the serial killer, Peters couldn’t say no.
When Evan read the script, Murphy, 56, said, “[Evan] called me the next day and he said, “It’s so challenging. It’s so hard that I actually have to say yes to it, even though I’m terrified of it.”
Before passing the script to the X-Men: Apocalypse star, Murphy auditioned for 100 people, the outlet reported.
After taking the lead role in the series, he buried himself under investigation to try to understand the convicted murderer.

He described reading articles, books and psychological reports “in an effort to understand why he did what he did, and the struggle he had with it.”
The St. Louis, MO resident revealed, “Then the physicality of it, which I know would be so hard. He has a lot of outward things because of the way he walks, he doesn’t move his arms when he walks and talks.’
“And so I did a lot of research to watch him and see how he moved and worked with weights on my arms, carrying a wardrobe, all kinds of things that I would carry with me all day trying to stay in it, so it would be second nature,” he said.
He left no detail uncovered, adding: ‘And then I made a 45-minute audio composite, which I listened to every day to try to understand his dialect and how he spoke and really try to understand why he did what he did. acted or whatever his mentality was.’

The completed project of the three-year venture turned out to be a great success.
Within three weeks of its release, the show was watched a whopping 701.37 million hours.
Dahmer murdered 17 people between 1978 and 1991, many of whom were young, gay African-American men. The show is now the second most-watched English Netflix series of all time.
