A driver has been reprimanded for parking his diesel car in an electric vehicle charging station in a multi-storey car park.
A fed-up Aussie shared a photo of the Volkswagen Amarok on Reddit with the caption: ‘Ute parked in one of five EV charging slots. Typical ute driver behavior.”
Motorists were quick to criticize the ‘selfish’ act.
“Seriously, why do people do this?” one person said.
Another said: ‘Are there consequences for their actions? If not, maybe it should be.”
‘Sometimes you have to get to know someone to find out he’s with ***. Other times they tell you without a word being spoken,” a third added.

In November 2022, the New South Wales government introduced a new law that will see drivers fined up to $2,200 for illegally parking at an electric vehicle charging point.
The fines apply to drivers who leave petrol or diesel vehicles in areas designated for electric cars in a law known as ‘ICEing’, referring to cars with internal combustion engines.
The fine also applies to parking an electric vehicle in a charging station, but not charging it.
Other states have also introduced fines for this law, with drivers in the ACT potentially being fined up to $3,200, while in Queensland it could cost up to $2,875.
In Victoria, misusing an electric vehicle charging spot can cost motorists $369.
