Barbie Ferreira, a star in the Netflix hit Euphoria, has shocked social media with photos of her incredible weight loss transformation.
A photo recently posted online shows a radically thinner Ferreira posing in a mirror, adding fuel to speculation that she might have had diabetes medication Ozempic as an aid in losing weight.
Fans were quick to point out the stark differences in the 27-year-old actress’ body shape, comparing the recent photo to photos of her from a few years earlier.

Others praised her ‘amazing’ transformation, adding that she was ‘unrecognisable’. Some also commented on viral posts that “Ozempic is a great drug.”
It remains unclear whether Ferreira actually used Ozempic, Mounjaro or Wegovy, the special slimming drug that contains the same active ingredient semaglutide.
Sources close to the star – who played Kat Hernandez in the HBO drama – have previously claimed she has slimmed down to show the world she is determined to succeed in the industry after leaving Euphoria.

They added: ‘To get roles in Hollywood you have to look good and as superficial as that sounds, it’s unfortunately true.’
A second source added: ‘Whether she did Ozempic or lost weight some other way, she’s enjoying all the attention being paid to it. It wouldn’t surprise anyone if it was Ozempic.’
Ferreira himself said he spoke last year about her departure from the show and a desire “not to portray the fat best friend.”
A number of female stars have already admitted to using Ozempic, a diabetes drug that can be prescribed ‘off-label’ for weight loss.
Rebel Wilson lost 80 pounds in four years and reached her goal weight of 165 pounds (11st 8 pounds). She got rid of most of the excess in 2020, calling it her “year of health” and crediting it to healthy eating and exercise.

However, while promoting her memoir, Rebel Rising, she admitted to using Ozempic briefly after losing weight to help maintain her new shape.
Talk show host Oprah Winfrey, 70, also admitted in December to using ‘weight loss drugs’.
Earlier this month, TV network HBO confirmed that Euphoria will return for a third season and return to production in 2025.
The network shut down recent claims that the hit drama series – starring Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney, among others – could be cancelled, amid rumors that members of the star-studded cast walked away from the TV show.
An HBO representative told The Independent: “Euphoria will go into production in 2025. Nothing has changed.’
The teen drama series has been a huge hit with fans and critics since its launch in 2019, and its continuation has left fans feeling relieved.
Euphoria has also proven to be a career launching pad for several cast members, including Jacob and Sydney, who recently admitted she loved playing the role of troubled teen Cassie Howard.
