Eugene and Dan Levy are in talks to co-host the 2024 Emmys on ABC next month
Eugene and Dan Levy are reportedly in talks to co-host the 2024 Emmys, four years after they made history as the first father-son duo to win an Emmy in the same year.
Currently, the actors, who created Schitt’s Creek and starred in it for six seasons (between 2015 and 2020), are still “in negotiations” to host the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 15 with ABC.
Sources emphasize that Deadline that ‘negotiations are still ongoing and it is unclear whether an agreement will be reached.’
DailyMail.com has contacted Dan’s representatives but has not heard back yet.
Over the years, the two have collaborated on a number of projects, including co-hosting the opening monologue at the 2020 SAG Awards and hosting Ellen.

When Dan, 40, hosted Saturday Night Live in 2021, Eugene, 77, also appeared during the episode.
In 2020, their show Schitt’s Creek was nominated for a whopping 19 Emmy Awards, with Dan winning for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Screenplay, and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.
That year, Eugene won the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.
Dan previously admitted that he had distanced himself professionally from his father for five years to avoid accusations that nepotism was the reason for his success.
In January, he opened up about how he kept his family tree a secret during his formative years at MTV Live because he wanted to continue his success separate from his father.
It wasn’t until he was confident he had made a name for himself in the industry that he approached Eugene about helping to create Schitt’s Creek.
“I never went to my dad for anything,” he explained during a special screening of his show, Good Grief. “I think there was a part of him that always wondered why I never came to him.”
“You know the culture, you know how easy it is to judge people who have grown up in this industry.”
He continued, “I had gone through high school, went to college, and ended up on MTV. When I auditioned for MTV, they still didn’t know who my father was. They still didn’t know for five years.

“And when I felt like I had built a relationship with the audience and had a successful television show, I felt like I had earned a place in the conversation. That’s when I brought him in.”
“It wasn’t until I did the work and came up with the idea for Schitt’s Creek that I knew I had what it took to do my part.”
Dan continues: ‘When you’re in situations like that, you have to do almost three times as much work, and rightly so, to get to the point where you can go to my father, like I did, and ask him to come and work for me.’
Schitt’s Creek premiered in 2015 and aired for six seasons, airing its final episode in 2020.
The story follows Johnny Rose, the head of the Eugene family, who is forced to discover what it means to be a father and husband after losing everything and rebuilding his life with the only possession he has left: a remote town called Schitt’s Creek, which he bought as a funny birthday present.
Actress Catherine O’Hara, 69, played his screen wife, Moira Rose, while Annie Murphy, 37, played daughter Alexis and Dan played son David.
