The Cannes red carpet is coming back to life as the 76th Film Festival kicked off with the premiere of the Louis XV drama Jeanne du Barry on Tuesday.

And on Wednesday, the premiere of Monster took place at the iconic film festival with celebrities such as Gemma Chan and Amy Jackson.

The film’s synopsis reads, “When her young son Minato starts behaving strangely, his mother senses something is wrong. Discovering that a teacher is responsible, she storms into the school demanding to know what is going on.

But as the story unfolds through the eyes of mother, teacher, and child, the truth gradually emerges. Palme d’Or winner and internationally acclaimed director Kore-Eda Hirokazu returns with a delicate, powerfully moving story about love, duty, social conflicts and secrets.’

The largest film festival in the world will conclude with the closing ceremony on May 27.

Ethan is the father of a total of four children. He shares two children – Maya, 24, and Levon, 20 – with his first wife Uma Thurman.

The Hollywood heavyweights got married in May 1998 after meeting on the set of the 1996 movie Gattaca.

Ethan separated from Uma in 2003 and divorced in 2004 after eight years of marriage.
