The Eternal Forest in Echoes of Wisdom, explained
There are some nice echoes you can catch early on, but navigating the forest will be a bit more difficult as the map will be covered in green trees. Firstly, there is a strong enemy in the western part of the forest, which will give you a Sword Moblin Lv. 3 Echowhich is quite powerful. However, it costs a whopping five energy costs, so you might not even be able to use it if you get here early enough.
If you follow the horseshoe prints on the ground you will also encounter a lynel, a tough fight early on. The Lynel Echo It costs six energy to use, so if you can’t use it, you might still want to save this fight for later.
The forest becomes easier to navigate as the map actually becomes usable, instead of being a blob of unidentifiable green, but you’ll have to make progress in the story to make that happen.
Now if you are on this guide page for a tour of the story puzzle section of Echoes of wisdomdon’t worry. We walk through the Eternal Forest and the ball puzzle below.
Eternal Forest walkthrough and orb puzzle solution
After taking a quick look at the three Goddess Temples, you’ll want to head to the Eternal Forest, just north of Hyrule Castle. From the warp waypoint on the path you’ll want to head towards the yellow quest marker and then northwest of it. Your map will be a smog of green trees, so this is really the only advice we can give you.
Once you reach General Wright and the guards, they will talk a bit. Once the cutscene ends, interact with the glowing tablet in front of you and a huge tablet will shoot out of the ground, along with a stone sphere on the canyon. Learn the Ancient-Orb Echo and summon one on top of the pillar directly in front of you. The tablet will light up in response.
There are five more pillars in the forest on which you must summon orbs. Luckily for you, the tablet gives you all the information you need: the circles correlate with the location of the pillars in the forest.
From the first pillar you place the orb on, go southwest until you see this deku baba. Take it out to reveal the pillar in the left center. Summon an Ancient-Orb Echo on it.
Now head right and go around the trees if necessary until you see this lowered area with a caromadillo rolling around. The center-right pillar is here on the right.
From this pillar, head southeast and follow the edge of the trees until you see the lower right pillar surrounded by the trees.
Go immediately to the left of this pillar and you will see the lower center pillar just in view.
Then go left again and descend another lowered area containing a sword moblin and a rope enemy. Jump onto the ledge north of the lowered area to grab the last pillar.
Once all six pillars have orbs, interact with the huge plate to remove the trees. Follow the path forward to play various cutscenes.
After the cutscenes, you can follow Null to the Stilled Ancient Ruins.
