Controversial rapper Spanian has been fired by his hip-hop collective after a tirade alleging that ‘pedophiles’ are hiding behind the gay pride movement.
Australian rapper Eshay, who built a successful online persona by speaking out about his troubled past in prison, went on an Instagram tirade on Saturday as tens of thousands marched at Sydney’s Mardi Gras.
“I’m fucking sick of this perverted, putrid shit, like a bunch of dead pedophiles hiding behind fucking gay pride,” he said.

His comments came as Sydney hosts the WorldPride festival, the world’s largest celebration of all things LGBTQIA+.
Spanian (pictured left with partner) made a name for himself rapping in prison yards while serving time in prison and has built a successful online brand.

Shortly thereafter, artist-run hip-hop collective One Day released a statement announcing that it was severing all professional ties.
“Our company no longer represents Spanian, effective immediately,” the statement said.
“We strongly condemn the issues related to child manipulation and pedophilia in Spain in relation to the LGBTOIA+ community during WorldPride in a recent Instagram video.”
