Escape To The Chateau’s Angel Strawbridge ‘launches a foul-mouthed rant at producer in leaked audio’

Escape To The Chateau star Angel Strawbridge launched into a foul-mouthed diatribe against show producers in leaked audio, released days after she and husband Dick were suspended by Channel 4 ‘following a review’ of their behaviour.

In a shocking 2021 recording obtained by deadlinecan the star tell a producer she’s “mad” at them before calling them a “f***ed up little c***.”

During the altercation, Angel can be heard questioning producers about a delay in her schedule, before accusing someone of posting images to Instagram of a man who bore a resemblance to her husband, Dick.

She said, ‘Who the hell is that inspired by when you fucking work at the castle? Just tell me that and then you can fucking leave and this I’m fucking mad because I think you’re a little bit insane.”

“Don’t work in this castle and then post dark, weird pictures that I find quite offensive, and don’t smirk. You know what, you can just mess around.’

The clip was shot during one of the first four series of Escape To The Chateau.

Earlier in the audio, Angel can be heard saying her husband Dick used to talk to people like “s**t,” to which a producer responded, “And I don’t like that either.”

A representative for Angel and Dick Strawbridge declined to comment to Deadline. MailOnline has contacted their representative and Channel 4 for further comment.

In recent weeks, Angel and Dick have been labeled ‘prickly’, ‘volatile’ and ‘a nightmare to work with’ amid their feud with Channel 4, after the network confirmed they would be severing ties with the pair.

Sources close to the couple told MailOnline that their on-set behavior was nothing like their “gorgeous” on-screen personas.

Insiders added that they couldn’t hide their “real characters” from crew members who spent weeks with them filming the popular show in northwestern France.

It has also been suggested that Channel 4’s culling of the hit show was ‘convenient’ as the series – which has been on screen for seven years and spawned numerous spin-offs – had run its course.

A source said, “Dick and Angel come across as the prettiest and sweetest couple on screen, literally like butter wouldn’t melt, but they’re not like that on screen.”

Furious: In a shocking 2021 recording obtained by Deadline, the star can tell a producer she’s “angry” with them before labeling them a “f***ed up little c***”

“It’s a full show, the production is in the castle with them for weeks, so they can’t hide their real characters — they can’t turn it on for two hours of recording and then not go back to their real persona.”

“They’re just prickly and volatile people and, as you can imagine, that’s a nightmare to work with.”

The couple, who married in 2015 and have two children, have now put their £38,000-a-time marriage service on hold.

Also on the back burner is their Chateau Under the Stars experience – where guests sleep in a glass dome for £350 a night – and a £75 Working Garden Day.

Their website states, “We are currently doing a two-year catching up on marriage. We will reopen the investigations as soon as possible!’

Angel is now reportedly looking to boost her profile with a TV appearance on Strictly or I’m A Celeb, with a source telling The sun: ‘Now that she is no longer attached to Escape to the Chateau, she is considering all options.

“She would definitely go into the jungle and isn’t afraid to speak her mind.”

Channel 4 launched an independent investigation after production company Two Rivers Media raised concerns about the Strawbridges and announced it would no longer be working with them.

A Channel 4 spokeswoman said: ‘Following a review we have made the decision not to work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future.’

The series made the couple household names as 2.5 million viewers regularly poured in to see the renovation of their 19th century Château de la Motte-Husson in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France.

The series was previously created by production company Spark Media Partners, who oversaw the first four seasons from 2016 to 2018. But it also allegedly cut ties with the Strawbridges over a feud.

Sources claim that Channel 4 can no longer be associated with them in the current climate.

Drama: Angel and Dick were branded ‘prickly’, ‘volatile’ and ‘a nightmare to work with’ amid their feud with Channel 4 after the network confirmed they would be severing ties with the pair

They said: ‘After the initial fallout, Dick and Angel had significant influence over Channel 4, so were able to replace [the production company]. It was less awake times then.

“But as we now live in much more awake times, Channel 4 cannot be seen to be associated with that kind of behaviour. It just doesn’t wash now.

“And there’s also the sense that the series was up to speed after all — there’s pretty much nothing left to do in that castle, so they had a nifty endgame.”

The exact nature of the allegations is unknown, but the Hollywood website Deadline reported that three former colleagues of the Strawbridges claimed the pair had clashed with producers.
