Erling Haaland warns rivals Man City’s Treble success has not satisfied their trophy pursuit

‘I want to do it again’: Erling Haaland vows Man City will try ‘to defend what we won’ after completing the Treble

Erling Haaland warned Manchester City’s rivals that their Treble success is far from satisfying his trophy hunger.

The Norwegian striker has been at the center of the club’s Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League successes, even though he failed to score in the Istanbul final against Inter Milan.

He said: ‘Even in my wildest dreams I didn’t think this would happen to the 22-year-old. It shows that it is possible for a man from a small town in Norway.

‘It also motivates other young people who play football in my situation, in an indoor hall in my hometown, incredibly.

“I said before that I have good people around me all my life, have good people you can trust, more importantly these days, to have this is fantastic, my mom and dad, I am so happy.

Erling Haaland believes Man City can repeat its trophy-laden campaign next season

Haaland believes he can improve further after his debut season under Pep Guardiola

“I think after a few days, when this settles down a bit, this feeling of winning this trophy, I definitely want to do it again. I know this is how I will think.

“We have to defend what we have won this season. In a month or two everything will be forgotten, such is life.’

Despite failing to score in the final, Haaland contributed 52 goals to Man City’s winning season at the Treble.

The striker insists he can improve further and believes City boss Pep Guardiola can continue to develop his game.

“I can still improve a lot,” said Haaland.

“On a good day I could have scored two goals, but I don’t care at the moment, in finals it’s about winning, you all know that, about getting the trophy.

‘He [Guardiola] is really emotional, in such a big match the pressure is unbelievable,

“To work for him is very special, we have a very good relationship, he helps me a lot and next season I look forward to improving even more.

“Being trained every day by the best coach in the world is a good place.”
