Erin Andrews shares brutal four-word response she got from Michael Strahan when she asked for career advice

Erin Andrews revealed a blunt but effective response from Michael Strahan when she consulted him before starting her entrepreneurial ventures.

While the pair were colleagues at Fox, Andrews turned to Strahan for advice on their business ventures, including her clothing line WEAR.

In an interview with The Entrepreneur on Instagram, Andrews credited Strahan with her success. She also remembered the advice he gave that has stuck with her ever since.

Andrews’ first words were: “I want to be the female version of Michael Strahan.”

Later in the conversation, Andrews revealed that Strahan advised her to “work like you’re broke.”

This mentality has worked for Strahan, who has found entrepreneurial success after a 15-year career in the NFL.

In addition to his work for Fox Sports, Strahan is also co-founder of SMAC Entertainment. The management agency represents popular internet personalities, such as Andrews, and American rap star Wiz Khalifa.

With this advice in mind, Andrews launched WEAR in 2019, with a focus on sports-themed women’s clothing. While she started the clothing line to broaden the women’s sportswear market, the brand has gained a lot of traction thanks to Taylor Swift.

Andrews asked her 14-time Grammy-winning girlfriend to wear her pieces several times last year, when Swift’s romance with Travis Kelce began drawing more attention to Chiefs games. Within seconds, Swifties flooded her online store and her Chiefs windbreaker sold out.

“Swifties aren’t just Chiefs fans. They’re Miami Dolphins fans. They are Green Bay Packers fans,” Andrews later said. ‘It’s two different worlds that we see. But I think women like me can help.”

In addition to providing her career and business advice, Strahan is one of Andrews’ biggest supporters when they are on-air for NFL duties. Likewise, Andrews expressed her gratitude for Strahan on air.

During a Packers-Bears game in November, Andrews greeted Strahan on national television and said, “I know another birthday boy. I’m going to pretend I’m a hologram and walk into the studio. Where are you, Michael Strahan? Wishing you a happy birthday this week, my friend.”

After receiving the greeting, Strahan returned the praise by complementing Andrews’ look, as she stunned in a black leather jacket for the broadcast.

‘Thank you. I appreciate it,” Strahan said. “When you talk about looking fresh, start talking about that jacket you’re wearing. You look fresh, yes! I love you EA.”
