Ozempic is a hot topic in Hollywood, with stars admitting to using the diabetes drug to lose weight, or flatly denying it.

Semaglutide is sold under the brand names Ozempic and Rybelsus as an antidiabetic drug used to treat type 2 diabetes and under the brand name Wegovy as an anti-obesity drug for long-term weight management.

The drugs act like a hormone in the brain that makes people feel less hungry and slows down the elimination of food from the stomach, which promotes weight loss.

Erika’s castmate on RHOBH Kyle Richards, 54, in February denounced online speculation that she was secretly using Ozempic to lose weight.

Speaking to DailyMail.com about the ongoing rumors of her weight loss, Kyle admitted that she was frustrated to see her hard work being dismissed as a “cheat drug.”

“When people try to blame my appearance on surgery or Ozempic, which would be totally irresponsible if diabetics can’t get their hands on it, it’s really frustrating to me,” Kyle explained.

Working on it: Kyle Richards of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, seen on Instagram earlier this year, has denied using Ozempic

‘It bothers me. I’d rather inspire people with what I do so they can try the same things I’ve done and see what happens to them.”

Kyle also denied using Ozempic in January while appearing on Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge’s show Two Ts In A Pod.

“Many people think I used Ozempic. To clarify, I’ve never used Ozempic,” Kyle said, referring to the diabetes drug.

Kyle also noted at the time that she was also not on Mounjaro, a similar diabetes drug used for weight loss, or “one of the injections” like Wegovy or Saxenda.
