Erik ten Hag left the post-match press conference after Manchester United’s draw against Bournemouth.

The Red Devils’ winless run in the Premier League extended to four league matches after Andoni Iraola’s side were held to a 2-2 draw.

The result left United seventh in the table, having dropped one position following Newcastle’s 4-0 win over Tottenham earlier in the day.

Finishing below seventh place would see the club endure their worst season in the Premier League era and Ten Hag was questioned about the possibility.

He said: ‘I don’t accept comment, take that question. That’s not important right now,” before walking away.

United’s worst performance came in the 2013/14 season, the first season after the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson when they finished seventh.

They had the chance to return to sixth place and maintain their slim hopes of securing Champions League football next season, but struggled to take control against a lively Bournemouth team.

The Cherries had taken the lead after 16 minutes through Dominic Solanke’s 17th goal of the season.

Bruno Fernandes leveled Ten Hag’s men just after the half hour, but the hosts responded by taking the lead again five minutes later through Justin Kluivert.

Fernandes grabbed his second of the match from the penalty spot to save United a point to forget for his side on another night.

United are now without a win in four league matches after drawing against Liverpool and Brentford and losing to Chelsea prior to Saturday’s result.

They will look to get back on track when they face Championship side Coventry at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final next weekend.
