Erik ten Hag is dealt ANOTHER blow as Sofyan Amrabat is ruled OUT of Man United’s clash with Brighton after he was forced out of Morocco duty through injury
Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has been ruled out of Saturday’s match against Brighton due to injury.
The deadline day loan signing from Fiorentina withdrew from Morocco’s squad last week due to injury.
Man United were aware that Amrabat had a minor back problem but still allowed him to join his national team.
But the 27-year-old left out the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Liberia and the friendly against Burkina Faso as a precaution.
And Amrabat will also miss Saturday’s Premier League match against Brighton, but United boss Erik ten Hag expects him to be fit again soon.
Ten Hag said on the club’s official website: ‘Amrabat, unfortunately he came back with the injury, so he won’t be available tomorrow (Saturday), but I think he can be in the short term (soon).’
Mason Mount, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have also been ruled out of the match due to injury.
Winger Antony is currently spending time away from the club as he deals with domestic violence allegations.
The player denies any wrongdoing and has not been arrested or charged.
His natural replacement Jadon Sancho has been officially banned ahead of the match after his public row with Ten Hag.
