Erik ten Hag ‘throws aside Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s succession plans as he prepares eight player transfer list’… as the Dutch manager tries to raise money to fuel his summer rebuild
- A number of players supported by the Norwegian are about to leave Old Trafford
- Ten Hag will want to strengthen his selection in various positions
- It seems that at least four defenders will be transferred during the summer period
Erik ten Hag will set aside former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dormant plans as he prepares his own squad ahead of the summer transfer window, reports say.
A number of players earmarked by the club legend during his time at Old Trafford are being readied for sale as Ten Hag plans a revamp of his pre-season squad.
There are a number of areas the Dutch manager will look to strengthen over the summer, with a striker and midfield reinforcements at the forefront of Ten Hag.
The Red Devils are slowly closing in on a move to Mason Mount after talks between Chelsea and United began this weekend, and the club have Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane at the top of their wish list to top the list.
But with a question mark over the club’s ownership, adding uncertainty to their activity in the market, Ten Hag is keen to trim his squad and inflated wage bill to accommodate the influx of new players.

After a season on loan at Nottingham Forest, Dean Henderson is expected to leave the club
From the mirrorGoalkeeper Dean Henderson – whom Solskjaer believed would take over No. 1 duties from David de Gea – is widely expected to leave Manchester after spending the season on loan at Nottingham Forest.
The Norwegian’s signing Alex Telles is under consideration for sale, as is midfield duo Fred and Scott McTominay, who both achieved promotion under Solskjaer during his three-year tenure at the club.
French striker Anthony Martial may also have played his last game in the red after failing to cement his place as a regular starter under Ten Hag.
Telles is not the only defender Ten Hag intends to leave during the period. Club captains Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly and Neco Williams are all likely to move their trades as their manager plans major changes in the squad area.

Napoli’s Kim Min-jae is Man United’s main defensive target after a strong run in Serie A
Maguire’s departure comes after a long spell on the sidelines for the Carabao Cup winners following a dip in his home form.
But the England star would appeal to incoming Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, with Spurs preparing to start their summer business now that a permanent manager has been installed in North London 71 days after the sacking of former manager Antonio Conte.
The club’s main defensive target is Napoli’s Kim Min-jae after his blistering season with the Serie A champions, with United leading the race to sign the talented centre-back after positive talks with the player.
The player is believed to have parted ways with his Napoli teammates, so Kim is so convinced that he would leave just a year after being signed to replace the outgoing Kalidou Koulibaly.
