Eric Adams considering taking back Diddy’s key to the city after feeling ‘deeply disturbed’ by ‘chilling’ footage of him beating Cassie Ventura

New York Mayor Eric Adams said his administration is considering taking back the ceremonial key to the city he gave to Diddy last year after a video of the rapper assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie came to light.

The Big Apple’s Democratic leader said he is “under analysis” when it comes to Sean “Diddy Combs,” the key to the city of New York.

Monday, Adams said PIX11 that his team came together to reconsider the honor:

“I think we were all deeply disturbed by watching that horrifying video of the young lady being attacked by him.

“The committee and the team have never revoked a key before, but we are now sitting down to see what the next steps forward will be,” he said.

Diddy imagined receiving the key to New York City last September, which was presented to him by Mayor Eric Adams

Adams said his government is considering taking back the ceremonial key to the city he gave to Diddy last year after a video came to light of the rapper assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie (pictured).

Diddy is currently under a federal investigation and faces serious allegations of sexual assault and abuse.

After the horrific video resurfaced, Diddy posted a front camera video apologizing for his behavior.

He said he had hit rock bottom, but made no excuses.

“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” he said.

Adams said his team will make a final decision on the matter at a later date.

When he gave Diddy the key last September, he stated that it was a representation of everything the rapper has done for New York through his longstanding support of Black entrepreneurs, including millions of dollars in donations.

“A son of Harlem, Combs worked his way to the top and became a successful musical talent both in front of and behind the microphone,” Adams said.

“Despite all his successes, Sean has never forgotten where he came from,” he said, calling Diddy the “epitome of the New York City attitude.”

The 54-year-old rapper apologized on Instagram on Sunday afternoon, saying: ‘I’ve hit rock bottom, but I’m not making excuses’

Diddy broke his silence on Sunday after the shocking video of him beating up his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura emerged last week.

The 54-year-old rapper apologized on Instagram on Sunday morning, saying: “I’ve hit rock bottom, but I’m not making excuses.”

‘So hard to think about the darkest times in your life, sometimes you have to do that. “I was devastated,” he said.

“I mean I’ve hit rock bottom, but I’m not making excuses, my behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video, I’m disgusted by it.

‘I was disgusted when I did it then, and I’m still disgusted by it now. I went and sought professional help, I started going to therapy, going to rehab.

“I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m very sorry. But I am determined to be a better man every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness, I’m truly sorry.”

Sources said Diddy went to rehab after the 2016 incident and continues to seek both therapy and spiritual work.

The video, obtained by CNNshows the shirtless rapper with a towel wrapped around his waist as he chases Cassie down the hallway of the InterContinental Hotel in Century City.

When she tried to get into an elevator, he grabbed her by the back of the head and knocked her to the ground.

He then kicked her as she lay motionless on the ground, before grabbing the two designer bags she had tried to escape with.

Diddy stood over her, kicked her again and then dragged her by the hoodie back to their room.

Diddy broke his silence on Sunday after the shocking video of him beating up his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura surfaced last week – following the alleged attack in 2016, the couple appeared on March 7, when Cassie had visible bruises on her legs

Cassie claimed in a now-settled lawsuit that Diddy paid the same hotel $50,000 for the footage after the attack.

Cassie’s attorney Meredith Firetog said Sunday, “Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt.”

“When Cassie and several other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested his victims were looking for a payday.

“That he only had to ‘apologize’ when his repeated denials were proven to be false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”

The apology comes after the LA County district attorney said they would not be able to prosecute Diddy for the attack because the statute of limitations had expired.

California’s statute of limitations for simple assault is one year, although aggravated assault lasts three years. Based on the timeline, neither charge could be leveled against Diddy.
