EPSN host Mike Greenburg underwent cardiac ablation Monday to correct an irregular heartbeat and is recovering at home as his wife jokes: “He doesn’t have to do anything…and he’s not good at it! “.
Mike Greenburg, host of ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ and ‘NBA Countdown,’ is recovering at home after undergoing a heart procedure on Monday.
His wife, Stacy, revealed the news and updated his status on her Twitter account on Thursday.
“For those asking: Greeny had cardiac ablation on Monday,” he said. ‘Recovery is slow, you don’t have to do anything and trust me…he’s not good at it!
“We both really appreciate all the good messages.”
It comes a day after she provided another update on her husband, tweeting a photo of Greenburg, 55, sitting on the couch at home with the caption: “Recovery Day Two.” Or, as Greeny calls it, NFL Draft Prep. Send help.’

Greenburg appeared to return home the day she had surgery, as Stacy also tweeted an update on Monday that read, “Thank you all for checking in. Greeny is home resting and everything went smoothly.”
“He’s already pushing the doctor to put it on the air if the Aaron Rodgers trade goes through, so that’s a good sign.
He really appreciates all the nice notes you’ve been sending him.
Cardiac ablation is a procedure used to correct an irregular rhythm, and there is currently no known timeline for Greenburg to return to ESPN.
But he’s a known lifelong Jets fan and if Rodgers makes his trade from the Packers to New York, it could be just the tonic he needs on the road to recovery.
And it could hasten his return to the television screen.
While Greenburg hasn’t posted on social media about his health, he paid tribute to Knicks hero Willis Reed on Tuesday after news broke that he had died.
“There have been better players than Willis Reed,” he wrote. ‘There has never been a greater leader.
Rest in peace, captain. #Knicks fans will love you until the end of time.’
Greenburg, 55, has no known timeline for his return to the ESPN duties.
