A massage therapist was denied bail after appearing in court charged with raping and sexually assaulting four clients.
Detectives allege four women were attacked at a massage parlour in Epping, Melbourne’s north, between June and August, Victoria Police said in a statement.
Hai Long Tang, 53, was arrested on Thursday afternoon and charged with 13 counts of rape and 18 counts of sexual assault.
Police suspect the women came to the massage parlor when he attacked them.
It is the first time the Wollert man has been arrested, Tang’s lawyer said today when he appeared in court in Melbourne.
The father of three applied for bail but his request was rejected after the court heard that Tang’s four alleged victims did not want him released.

The magistrate highlighted the “overwhelmingly close proximity” and likelihood of “inadvertent” contact between Tang and the alleged victims if he were granted bail, given his home was close to the scene of the alleged offence.
Tang has been arrested again and will appear in court again on November 22.
Detectives have asked anyone with information about the case to come forward.
