Enshrouded’s first major update delivers performance improvements and fixes system memory errors
Keen Games has released the first major update for Envelopedwhich addresses a variety of performance issues and bugs.
Enveloped is a survival action role-playing game that launched in early access on Steam on January 24 and received its first major patch today (February 6) with a bunch of changes aimed at improving the game’s stability, following a number of reports from players.
A known issue that has caused some problems is the “insufficient system memory available” error when starting the game. According to Keen Games, this message would trigger “when your machine has less than 16 GB of RAM” and is intended to “warn” players that their gaming experience may be poor as a result.
Although the issue has not yet been resolved, players can resolve it themselves by adding “–disable-ram-check” to the game’s launch options via Steam to ignore the warning.”
Version 0.7.0.1 also fixed a number of rare crash issues, including an issue that could occur on AMD GPUs, improved performance for various in-game systems, and fixed an issue that sometimes prevented players from logging into a dedicated server.
Additionally, the in-game reset timer for in-world content has been reduced to 30 minutes and will still only occur if there is no player in close proximity to the part of the world that needs to be reset. You can read the full patch notes below.
The game, which has been well received in early access so far, receiving a ‘Very Positive’ rating Steamwill also later be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Enveloped version 0.7.0.1 patch notes:
Known problem
Error message ‘Insufficient system memory available’ when starting the game.
- This error message is triggered when your machine has less than 16 GB of RAM. It’s there to warn you that your experience will probably be pretty bad.
- You can work around this by adding “–disable-ram-check” to the game’s launch options via Steam to ignore the warning.
- Please note that if your computer does not meet the specifications, it may not be able to run the game in the long run, after we add all the features we have in mind. Enveloped!
