England produced another terrible performance in the goalless draw against Slovenia on Tuesday evening.
It was still enough to secure top spot in Group C, which would put the Three Lions on the more favourable side of the draw, but they have plenty to work on ahead of the knockout stages.
Gareth Southgate’s men scored just twice in their three group games and failed to create many clear-cut chances against a stubborn Slovenian team in Cologne.
It’s been a familiar pattern during the group stage, and the stats aren’t exactly readable for England fans as the team have now won just two of their last eight games.
These are the figures that put England to shame after another unconvincing evening in Cologne.

Bellingham is missing again
It was another quiet evening for Jude Bellingham, who has been missing since scoring the winner in England’s group opener.
Harry Kane (32) was the only England outfield player to play the full ninety minutes and had fewer ball contacts than Bellingham (69) on Tuesday evening.
Zero shots, chances created, tackles, completed crosses or goals on Tuesday night for Bellingham, who have also lost possession 15 times.
The attacker also failed to score in England’s previous match in Group C against Denmark.

Bukayo Saka also failed to establish his authority on the game. He did not attempt a dribble on the right wing before being hooked in the 70th minute.
On the opposite flank, Phil Foden managed to beat his man just once before being substituted.

But it’s not all doom and gloom…
England have reached the knockout stages of the last five major tournaments. Until this series, it had never been possible to achieve more than two in a row. Gareth Southgate (four) has now knocked out twice as many tournaments as any other English manager (Hodgson, Eriksson, Robson, Ramsey, Winterbottom all).
England completed a fourth consecutive Euro group stage unbeaten, dating back to a 2-1 defeat to France at Euro 2004. Iceland are the only team to beat England within 90 minutes at a Euro in the last 20 years.
