Fans believe an English star will star on the new cover of popular video game EA FC, after an image leaked online showing the design.
The battle for the coveted face of the latest edition of the game has been going on for a long time. Previous versions of the then FIFA franchise have seen Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi compete against each other.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland featured in the most recent iteration of the virtual series and a new star will be revealed ahead of the new game’s launch.
The last England star to front the coveted match series was Man United legend Rooney, who appeared on the cover several times until 2012.
It is now believed that another Three Lions star will be given the honour after an excellent season for both club and country.
It is thought that one of England’s current stars will become the video game’s next cover star
The player has been influential in England’s path to the final of Euro 2024 in Germany
Gareth Southgate has a broad mix of world-class talent in his England squad, including Premier League Player of the Season Phil Foden, Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham and Bayern Munich goalscorer Harry Kane, to name a few.
But it is Bellingham who is being tipped as the new figurehead of the EA FC world, at the age of 22 after a 12-month career.
The box-to-box midfielder has starred at Real Madrid after completing a £115million move last summer, winning the Champions League and LaLiga in his debut season.
Jude Bellingham shone for both club and country – winning the Champions League and LaLiga with Real Madrid in his first season
He was also an important figure for the national team, playing a key role in qualifying for the 2024 European Championship and being the star of the team when it reached the final.
Bellingham has started every game in the ongoing competition in Germany and will play a key role in the final against Spain on Sunday evening.
Last season he scored 23 goals in 42 club games for Real Madrid and at Euro 2024 he scored two goals.
However, the midfield talent appears to be suffering from fatigue and there are fears that he will need surgery on a shoulder injury in the coming weeks.
