EXCLUSIVE: England in talks with Scott Robinson about succeeding Eddie Jones after the 2023 World Cup…
- England have already discussed the head coach role with Scott Robinson
- The 48-year-old Kiwi coach has been in London for the past two weeks
- However, his preference is to take over the role of Ian Foster with the All-Blacks
England have held talks with Kiwi Scott Robertson over the takeover of Eddie Jones after the 2023 World Cup.
The Mail on Sunday understands that Robertson, who has been in London for the past two weeks, is one of the preferred candidates on a shortlist for succession from the RFU compiled by Nigel Redman.
Leicester’s Steve Borthwick was the odds-on favourite, but the RFU recently reversed their intention to appoint an Englishman as head coach.
The All Blacks role is Robertson’s favored job, but Ian Foster, who saw his New Zealand side bow to the late pressure as England rallied to secure a 25-25 draw at Twickenham yesterday, is in the fight to keep his post.
