England fans visit four-star beach in Qatar but discover it’s a lifeless CONSTRUCTION SITE

England football fans looking to enjoy the day at an apparently highly rated beach in Qatar have been disappointed to discover that the public bathing area is actually a construction site.
The group ventured to a public beach in Doha, Qatar’s coastal capital, after seeing a four-star Google listing showing photos of golden sand, crystal-clear waters and stunning views of the city’s skyscrapers.
But when they arrived, tourists were shocked to see what appeared to be a scene from a ‘zombie apocalypse’ movie, with unfinished construction projects, tents being used as worker housing, and rubbish littered everywhere.
However, the journey of the eager adventurers can serve as a warning to all travelers. If the group had taken a closer look at the recent reviews, they would have seen other disappointed beachgoers warning that the area was under construction.

The beach was reportedly listed as one of the best free public beaches in the area. It also had a four-star rating on Google.
Football fans visited the so-called public beach today after searching online for “free beaches in Doha”.
The beach was reportedly listed as one of the best free public beaches in the area, but images shared with MailOnline show it’s far from spectacular.
“Apparently this is Public Beach Doha,” John, 31, said in the video. It is a construction site with some tents.
“Obviously it’s like a tourist town that they didn’t finish on time.”
Another traveler added: ‘Rubbish everywhere.’

‘No one. There are a couple of tennis courts there, but there is no one to use them.
‘[It will be] a nice little area when finished. A pity it isn’t.
Travelers admitted that the beach has a “nice view” of the Pearl, an artificial island in Doha that spans nearly four square kilometers, but was otherwise apparently a disappointment.

The beach is open to the public, but appears to be used primarily as a tent site for those suspected of housing members of the construction crew.
‘There is a man sitting in [the tent] so they’re obviously living there,’ John said as they strolled across the dirty sand.
He added: ‘There’s another one.’
Some of the tents featured fireplaces, suggesting that they may be equipped with some type of kitchen.

“I wouldn’t have marked this as a public beach,” John added. “We’re seeing a village of workers and construction everywhere.”

John, who is in Qatar for the World Cup festivities, told MailOnline much of the country is unfinished.
“Qatar feels like it hasn’t finished building anything,” he explained. ‘It’s hard to see what they’ve been doing for 12 years, except the stadiums.
“Everything else is half ass and half built.”
She also admitted that her group hadn’t thought to read the Google reviews of the beach, especially since it seemed to be rated so highly online.
However, recent reviews by other beachgoers, some dating back over a year, revealed the area to be a work in progress.
John said that in the future he might dig into the reviews before venturing out.
