Two England fans were left hilariously red-faced on live TV after claiming Gareth Southgate ‘wouldn’t survive’ as manager of the Three Lions, while Jude Bellingham scored to save their trip to the 2024 European Championship.
England were on the verge of being knocked out of the European Championship when Bellingham scored with an outrageous bicycle kick in the fifth minute of injury time.
The 21-year-old’s goal restored England’s hope of competing in the tournament as Harry Kane secured a 2-1 win at the start of extra time to qualify for the quarter-finals, where they will play Switzerland.
Supporters feared the worst as England continued to fail to get into the match until Bellingham saved the game with a sensational goal.
The defeat to Slovakia would have overshadowed England’s humiliating exit from Euro 2016, when they were knocked out by Iceland, ending Southgate’s tenure as Three Lions manager.

The 53-year-old is expected to leave England at the end of the tournament after eight years in charge of the national team. Some fans were outraged by his tactics against Slovakia.
A group of supporters watched on at one of the many English fan parks around the country and gave their hilarious verdict on the performance seconds before the net exploded.
BBC presenter Joe Inwood reported on the brilliant television program and asked the two fans whether Southgate would ‘survive’ what looked like a defeat.
The duo started to answer, saying, “He’s definitely not coming back after this. He even said it himself: if they don’t win this tournament, he’s out.’
As if staged, Real Madrid star Bellingham made a last-ditch effort to save England’s tournament chances just when fans feared the worst.

Supporters went wild at Brixton Stadium as Slovakia’s ambitions were dashed and Southgate’s future as national coach quickly changed.
“That was perfect timing, I literally said they were going to score while we were talking to you. He [Southgate] “He can stay, he can stay,” said the fan who had initially asked for his replacement.
Responding to the comical exchange on social media, one supporter on X said: “I think a lot of us were thinking or saying the same thing at that moment.”
Another comment added: ‘Yes, but it was his tactics that made us play devilishly for the first 90 minutes and the previous 3 games, so…’.
