England fans are convinced Mason Mount will be in the England squad for Euro 2024 after he was pictured in the side’s new kit.
The midfielder has not played for his country for more than a year. His last cap was the 2022 World Cup quarter-final defeat to France. He has struggled with form and injuries since the competition.
He was left out of the squad for the last international break – the last before manager Gareth Southgate names his provisional squad for the summer tournament, and has recently returned from a long injury break.
Mount looked to have scored a winner for Manchester United against Brentford this weekend, kicking in extra time to announce his return to action with a bang, only for Kristoffer Ajer to equalize moments later.
And supporters believe he has a chance to be part of the summer squad after he was spotted at the recent kit launch donning the new strip despite not currently being part of the squad.

Mount was branded a ‘Gareth Southgate favourite’ after previously being a regular under the Three Lions boss
“I hadn’t noticed but Mason Mount was at the kit launch in England (with a big hug for fellow United No. 7 Ella Toone),” a fan posted on X, formerly Twitter. ‘I haven’t seen him in anyone’s predicted Euros squad yet, but if he has a strong end to the season I wouldn’t be surprised. He’s top class and a Southgate favourite!’
Another wrote: ‘Southgate watched Gallagher for a week and decided it was time for Mount,’ while a third added: ‘He’s going to the Euros. Southgate loves him.’
Mount was photographed in England’s new purple kit on TikTok, despite making just 14 club appearances this season.
He was a vital part of Southgate’s plans before his injury. Since his debut in 2019, he has made a total of 36 appearances for his country, all under Southgate.
There are still concerns over one England midfield spot, with Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham’s spots taken, but third spot up for debate.
The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kobbie Mainoo and Gallagher have filled in in recent games, the resident is far from decided and Mount could make a late dash for selection.

Things have not gone to plan for the 25-year-old since his £60million move to Old Trafford in the summer, but now that he is fit he will be hoping he can get started for the rest of the season.
United are sixth in the Premier League after the draw against Brentford, with Erik ten Hag’s side still having nine games left this season, although there is still a game to win with the players above them.
They are 11 points behind Aston Villa in fourth place.
Southgate will name a provisional Euros squad just days after the end of the season, before the group is shortened for the competition.
