England open their European Championship base to families after each group match as Gareth Southgate tries to ease the pressure on his players.
The team’s Weimar base is in a remote location here in Germany, far away from the host cities, making it difficult for loved ones to see the players except for a short period after matches.
But Southgate allows wives, girlfriends and families to enter his team’s camp the day after every Group C match to ensure his team is comfortable.
Southgate has worked tirelessly during his reign to ensure that his players do not crave the comfort of their families and homes during long tournaments.
For example, each player received care packages – including photos of loved ones – upon arrival here in Germany.

England will bring the coach to and from Frankfurt for Thursday’s match against Denmark and return straight to Blankenhain after the match.
And loved ones will be allowed into the team hotel from Friday morning, with Southgate also planning to open the doors to the England hotel after next Tuesday’s match against Slovenia in Cologne.
