Jude Bellingham spared England’s blushes with a final equalizer and gave his team a 2-2 draw against Belgium at Wembley on Tuesday evening.
Gareth Southgate’s side got off to a nightmare start when John Stones limped off injured, before Youri Tielemans responded to a Jordan Pickford error to give Belgium the lead inside eleven minutes.
But the Three Lions gradually worked their way back into the match and leveled after Ivan Toney scored his first international goal by converting a penalty after being brought down by Jan Vertonghen. Just as England looked to be on top, another error, this time from Lewis Dunk, gave Romelu Lukaku time to pick out Tielemans and restore the Belgian lead.
England huffed and puffed as they searched for an equalizer in the second half, and Bellingham emerged in the 95th minute to fire home after good work from Ollie Watkins and James Maddison.
