- Energizer’s Hard Case P28K is a brick-like device that weighs well over half a kilo
- This allows users to talk on the phone for 122 hours straight before running out
We’ve all been there: just when you need to use your phone the most, the battery runs out.
But the days of searching for a charger could soon be a thing of the past, thanks to Energizer’s latest device.
The tech giant’s rugged new smartphone can last almost a week on a single charge, even though it is three times heavier than an iPhone.
With such a large battery, Energizer’s Hard Case P28K is unsurprisingly a brick-like device, measuring about 3cm thick and weighing more than half a kilo.
But after just an hour and a half of charging, the most talkative users can talk on the phone for 122 hours straight before running out of juice.

The standby time – when the phone is on but not in use – would now last more than three months.
Energizer says it’s built for users who need a long-lasting phone – like hikers – rather than the latest technology.
Running out of phone battery while on the road is the bane of many people’s lives.
While smartphones are equipped with increasingly powerful batteries, they also consume a lot more power – with bigger, brighter, higher-resolution screens and more apps than ever running in the background.
The iPhone 15, for example – which weighs 171 grams and is just under 8mm thick – has a reported capacity of 3,349 milliamp-hours (mAh).

Tests from review website Tom’s Guide have shown that it lasts about 11 hours of continuous web browsing at low screen brightness.
The battery in the Hard Case P28K is eight times more powerful in comparison at 28,000 mAh, giving it a talk time of 122 hours and standby time of 2252 hours.
The device costs around £215, is just under 3cm thick, weighs 570g and can be fast charged in around 90 minutes.
The phone – which goes on sale in October this year – is quite basic and cannot work with 5G.
It runs Android 14, has 256GB of storage, good quality front and rear cameras, and a 6.78-inch 1080p LCD display.
