Report finds employees who log in more productive hours at a distance-first
Hybrid model offers flexibility, but leads to shorter work breaks
Despite an increased productivity, health workers are running with a high burner risk
Activtrak Productivity Labs Final report On productivity in the workplace, trends at work has shown that the work location significantly influences productivity, and remotely-first companies, where employees usually work remotely, its provider are reducing greater productivity, interruptions and are most popular.
The survey comprises 958 companies and 135,098 employees and offers an overview of productivity in various sectors, such as financial services, health care, insurance and professional services.
It thought the productivity levels in different industries vary – employees in the financial sector still registered for 30 minutes of productive time a day than their colleagues in other sectors, where these employees also showed a 9% higher healthy user percentage, which means that they worked efficiently without the Risks of burnout or under -utilization.
A matter of balance?
Similarly, health care employees have also recorded more productively than the average of the cross-industry, with another 36 minutes of work a day. More than a third of healthcare employees, however, run a high risk of burnout or disconnection, while they fall into conviction or under -utilized categories.
In the insurance sector, employees spend 18 minutes a day in cooperation applications than their colleagues, but there is a 41% lower under -utilization rate, which suggests that employees are generally more involved and work on capacity.
Most companies (55%) use the remote-first model where employees spend more than 60% of their time, but 25% of the companies prefer the hybrid approach.
Only 18% of companies use the office-first setups where employees spend the majority of their time in the office, while only 2% of the companies use the remote models, where employees work entirely from home.
Interesting is that employees at a distance register on average more productive hours per day compared to those in other models, probably because of less personal meetings and interruptions. Office-first employees, on the other hand, show the most balanced work patterns, with almost 70% of their time spent in a healthy state.
Hybrid employees take slightly shorter breaks (on average 90 minutes compared to 104-120 minutes for other models), which suggests that managing work in both environments could introduce more intensity in their working days. Nevertheless, the hybrid model becomes popularity for its flexibility.
Activtrak warns that employees spending more than 75% of their time in an over – -oriented burnout for the state, while those who spend more than 75% of their time in under -utilized risk risks.
For only external employees, 31% of their time is spent in an over – -oriented state, which is the highest of all work models. However, they are also the most focused, which spend an average of 4 hours and 24 minutes a day on a few tasks without interruptions. Predictable, their cooperation time is very low, which means that they have fewer opportunities for group work compared to employees who spend some time in the office.
“Our latest study shows that workplace model and location – whether the office, distant or hybrid – really influences how we work, focus and work together,” said the Chief Customer Officer and the head of the productivity lab, Gabriela Mauch.
“While organizations are considering flexible personnel policy, a return to the office or other changes in organizational design, it is crucial for leaders to first understand the productivity data of Baseline and the potential impact of location on the involvement and performance of employees.”
