Emmy Awards 2024: Padma Lakshmi brings her look-alike daughter Krishna, 13, along for glamorous twirl on the red carpet

Padma Lakshmi and her daughter Krishna made a glamorous duo at the 2024 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Monday.

While posing on the red carpet, the 53-year-old model turned heads in a chartreuse-colored dress with a plunging neckline and a flowing, floor-length skirt.

Beside her, 13-year-old Krishna wore a strapless, black velvet dress with a high leg slit trimmed with feathers.

The former Top Chef presenter – who looked effortlessly stylish at the Glamor & Tory Burch Luncheon – also posed for solo photos to show off her stunning look, which featured shiny, metallic silver platform heels and luscious locks.

She looked striking with a sultry smoky eye paired with peach blush and a vibrant magenta lip combination.

To match her bold and statement Marchesa custom dress, she opted for minimal and dainty jewelry.

She opted for a necklace to make the chain details on her dress’ bodice and straps stand out.

The New York Times bestselling author wore a statement diamond ring and layers of gold bracelets on one arm.

Similarly, her daughter Krishna wore a statement necklace from Tiffany & Co. and left her hair down in soft beach waves for an effortlessly chic look.

Padma was nominated for Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Competition Program for her work on Top Chef, but the Emmy went to RuPaul of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The 75th Emmy Awards take place Monday night at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

The strike-postponed ceremony will bring together Hollywood’s biggest stars as they celebrate the best of primetime television in the year 2023.

Comedian and Black star Anthony Anderson will make his debut as a host alongside an all-Black executive producing team for the first time in Emmy history.

Jason Bateman, Quinta Brunson, Stephen Colbert, Jon Cryer, Jodie Foster, Jon Hamm, Ken Jeong and Joel McHale are among the stars who will take the stage on Monday.

And the nominees include Pedro Pascal, Hannah Waddingham, Keri Russell, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Hart, Elisabeth Moss, Kieran Culkin and Bob Odenkirk.

The awards ceremony normally takes place in September, but was postponed because writers and actors were on strike last year.

Due to industry strikes, the Emmys were postponed to 2024 during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday in the United States and come on the heels of the Golden Globes.

As with the Globes — which celebrated the best films and television shows of 2023 on Jan. 7 — succession dominates most categories.

At this year’s Emmys, Succession leads the nominations with 27 nods.

The Last of Us follows closely with 24, The White Lotus with 23 and Ted Lasso with 21.

The sequel has a chance to win the Outstanding Drama Series for the third time, after previously winning the title in 2020 and 2022.

Series stars Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Strong and Brian Cox will go head-to-head for best lead actor in a drama series.

Their co-star, Sarah Snook, is also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama.

The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal is nominated for lead actress in a drama, while his co-star, Bella Ramsey, is nominated for lead actress.

Bad Sisters’ Sharon Horgan, Yellowjackets’ Melanie Lynskey, The Handmaid’s Tale’s Elisabeth Moss and The Diplomat’s Keri Russell are also in the same category for Best Lead Actress in a Drama.

Bear duo Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri are also up for lead and supporting actress respectively for their roles in the restaurant drama’s debut season.

Due to the industry strikes and delays, the first season of The Bear is in contention instead of the second season, which was released last summer.

For that reason, many of the nominated television shows that were released up to 19 months ago are now getting their moment.

Netflix’s Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is up for Outstanding Limited Or Anthology Series against Beef, Daisy Jones & The Six, Fleishman Is In Trouble and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

For Outstanding Comedy Series, The Bear is up against Ted Lasso, as well as Abbott Elementary, Barry, Jury Duty, Only Murders In The Building, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Wednesday.

This year’s awards ceremony will feature a series of cast reunions and recreations to honor and commemorate beloved classic television series such as The Sopranos, Cheers, I Love Lucy and All In The Family.

Stars from Grey’s Anatomy, American Horror Story and Ally McBeal will also reunite on stage as they present awards at the Emmys.

Fan-favorite comedians and hosting duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who is also nominated for Outstanding Host of a Reality or Competition Program, will also take the stage during the awards ceremony.

The show kicks off at 5pm PT and can be streamed live on Fox or FXX via streaming services such as Hulu + Live TV, Sling, DirecTV, YouTube TV and FuboTV.

The day after the awards ceremony, the Emmys will be available to stream on Hulu.

The first Emmy Award was held in 1949 to celebrate artistic and technical achievements to the television industry.
